SECOND HARVEST HEARTLAND FOOD DRIVE - 2010 Calendar Year
Of all the charities, giving food is the best one. We are much perturbed when we get no food at noon. Other beings feel similarly under similar circumstances. Knowing this, he who gives food to the poor and hungry, is the best donor or charitable person. The Taittiriya Upanishad says that "Food is Brahma; from food all the creatures are born and having been born, by food they live, and having departed, into food again they enter." – Sri Sai Satcharitra Chapter 38 |
Sri Saibaba Mandir is working with Second Harvest Heartland in conducting a food drives between 1st and 15th of March and August, 2010. One in seventeen Minnesotans rely upon local food shelves to help feed their families. There has been an ever increasing demand in area food shelf visits caused by downturn of economy. This year, many food shelves are seeing double and triple digit increases. Sai devotees are requested to participate in the food drive and help reach out to our community.
